Santa Ana seniors Rafael Canales and Eddie Luengas each weighed in at one class below the weight they ended up wrestling at their school’s dual meet tournament Saturday -- meaning they could have faced guys that outweighed them by as much as 15 pounds.

But each managed to go 5-0 against his opponents -- Canales at 189 and Luengas at 215 -- and help the Saints win the ‘A’ pool, also with a 5-0 record.

Another senior, Jonathan Navarro, went 3-0 at 152 pounds for Santa Ana, which is ranked No. 2 in the Southern Section Division IV preseason dual meet coaches’ poll. Murrieta Valley, ranked No. 8 in Division I, fell to the host team, 44-22, and finished in second place with a 4-1 record.
