Birmingham’s Carter could be looking elsewhere

You figured once Karl Dorrell was fired at UCLA, there would be some kind of domino effect, particularly when it came to the Bruins’ recruiting class, considered by many as one of the best in the nation heading into 2008. And sure enough, it looks like things are beginning to fall apart in Westwood.

Donovan Carter of Birmingham is the latest prized prospect who’s re-evaluating his situation after verbally committing to UCLA in June. The senior linebacker now appears interested in, get this, Pac-10 rivals Arizona St. and Washington. Check out Rivals.com for some quotes from Carter about his current dilemma.

Arizona and San Diego St. have offered scholarships and Cal, Notre Dame and Oregon continue to express interest in Carter. Making matters worse for the Bruins is his Birmingham teammate, Milton Knox, is also believed to be reconsidering his options. Who’s next? UCLA fans, you’ll have to excuse me, but the fall out seems inevitable.
