Some final City football thoughts ...

What a City season. Now comes the onslaught of all-star teams and end-of-the-year awards.

Here are some personal observations and contemplations:

Teams of the year -- Birmingham, City; Garfield; Invitational. They are the champions. Enough said.

Player of the year -- Milton Knox, pictured, Birmingham. Three titles in four years. Enough said.

Biggest surprise -- South East. In their third year of existence, the Jags made the playoffs and also won a playoff game.

Biggest letdown -- Eagle Rock. Yes they were undefeated in the regular season, and may have played over their heads. But a top-seeded team should not lose to a 16th-seeded team in the playoffs, as Eagle Rock did to Huntington Park in the first round of the Invitational.
