It’s looking like a repeat of the state Division III bowl game of last year, when Oaks Christian and Cardinal Newman engaged in an overtime affair. St. Bonaventure and Modesto Central Catholic are tied at 7-7 after the first quarter.

What’s encouraging is that both teams are finding ways to move the ball. Central Catholic running back Louis Bland has been the most impressive player on the field, running over a defender on his way to a 37-yard carry.

It’s an encouraging start to a long day at the Home Depot Center.
