‘Not as talented as last year’s squad, but team chemistry might make up the difference.’

Those were the comments made regarding the Redondo girls’ basketball team in The Times’ preseason rankings, where the Sea Hawks were No. 11. Perhaps it’s time to rethink that assessment. Redondo may be more talented and have more chemistry than last year’s squad.

‘I like our chemistry, and our team defense is just outstanding,’ Redondo Coach Marcelo Enriquez told the Daily Breeze. ‘Our eight seniors want to make a lot of noise and have a lot of success, and they really get after it on the floor. They’re fun to watch.’

Redondo (7-0) will host Spring Valley Mount Miguel on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
