Suspense gripped me tonight ...

Would the Jackrabbits rebound from their shocking defeat? Indeed they would.

Long Beach Poly girls’ basketball team, the No. 1-ranked squad by The Times, whipped Washington D.C. Woodson in the opening round of the Chandler, Ariz. tournament. Jasmine Dixon had 14 points and nine rebounds and Monique Oliver added nine points, 13 rebounds and three blocks for Poly (3-1), which lost to San Francisco Sacred Heart Cathedral on Dec. 8.
