As one football coach departs Chino Hills, another is moving from Don Lugo to Chino.

Terry Roche, who has coached at Chino Hills since the school opened with only a freshman class in 2001, wants to spend more time with his grandchildren, according to this report.

He also said he’d like to help select his replacement and wouldn’t even mind helping out with the team next season. I wouldn’t be suprised if he showed up in a golf cart, though.

Roche, 56, went 39-15-1 in five varsity seasons at the school, qualifying for the playoffs four times. Before coming to Chino Hills, he won four Southern Section titles at Diamond Bar.

Over at Chino, the Cowboys landed Greg Setlich, who spent the last seven seasons at Don Lugo, where he went 34-41. Setlich, 48, also has head coaching experience at El Rancho and San Dimas, as well as three stints as an assistant at Chino, where he graduated in 1976.

Hopefully, the Cowboys can get back some of the moxie they developed under John Monger.
