Let’s see. I compared Lakeside’s school colors to the slimy green waters of nearby Lake Elsinore, bemoaned the traffic on the 91 freeway, made fun of the smell in Norco, the overbuilding in Murrieta, the intersections in Temecula and the general lack of quality placekickers in the Inland Empire.

Not a single comment. Not on this blog or anywhere else I could find. What does it take to rile you guys up, I thought?

Then, I throw together an All-Inland Empire football team, basically off the top of my head, as usual, and a thread starts up on CalHiSports.com. Next thing you know, it takes more time to read than getting through the 15/91 interchange on a Monday morning.

Of course, those amateurs were all wrong, except for Chaparral Coach Tommy Leach and the few others who agreed with me.

That just got me thinking though. What will this team look like a year from now? I think I’ll take a stab at predicting the top I.E. players at each position heading into next season. That quarterback from Upland is probably a lock, and I can already pencil in a couple Centennial defensive players.

I could use some offensive linemen, though. What about Bradley Randle at Vista Murrieta. Contributions appreciated. Stay tuned.
