The No. 21-ranked Pioneers laid a basketball beat-down on No. 5 Compton, winning, 85-61, Friday night in the semifinals of the Torrey Pines tournament’s ultra-elite National Division.

The Pioneers did so much right. They held supreme scorer DeMar DeRozan to a season-low 17 points. They held the Tarbabes to one three-pointer. And they showcased their well-versed attack: Lorne Jackson (28 points), Brad Lewis (25) and Michael Meza (19).

Oh, and one more thing, the Pioneers improved their stunning record to 13-0.

Tomorrow they’ll play Dominguez in the National Division championship game at 8:35 p.m.
