My question to you: How fast is a roadrunner?

Answer: Faster than an ACME turbo-rocket. Sorry, couldn’t resist. Roadrunners hit speeds of 15 mph and generally prefer sprinting over flying.

That trivia tidbit leads us seamlessly to our next nugget: the Crossroads Roadrunners, who are cruising these days in boys’ basketball.

Crossroads improved to 9-1 after nixing the Norwalk Lancers, 99-55, Thursday night in a pool-play game at the Whittier Christian tournament. Conrad Leibowitz led the Roadrunners with 26 points, 11 rebounds and four blocked shots.

If the Roadrunners stay at this clip, the rest of the Olympic League will be playing the role of Wile E. Coyote.
