These Holiday greetings are not always received well

Statistically speaking, Jrue Holiday has outplayed nearly every single high-profile opponent he’s faced this year. The senior guard got the better of both Delvon Roe and Klay Thompson earlier in the season. Try as they might, Oscar Bellfield and Demar DeRozan didn’t fair much better.

You can add Jordan Hamilton to the long list. Well, sort of. Holiday had the better all-around game Friday with 21 points, 13 rebounds and five assists for Campbell Hall, but Hamilton got the last laugh. The standout junior scored 26 points to guide Compton Dominguez to a 76-57 victory in a semifinal game of the Torrey Pines tournament in San Diego.

Now, I’m sure Holiday would take a win over individual numbers any day of the week. He’s a competitor, it’s in his nature, plain and simple. But somewhere, deep down inside, there has to be some level of satisfaction. Right? Next up for Holiday: a rematch against DeRozan of Compton on Saturday in the third place game.
