Did half the Capistrano Valley boys’ basketball team fall asleep beside the hotel pool?

How else did the Cougars lose to Miller, 89-63, in a pool-play game Friday afternoon at the Cathedral City tournament?

No disrespect to Miller, but Capistrano Valley has wins this season over Colony, Los Alamitos and Long Beach Jordan, all preseason top 25 selections by The Times, the only newspaper that covers the entire Southland.

Looks like Michael Cardenas went nuts for Miller, scoring 31 points. Wish I had more details. Feel free to share.
