Girls’ Water Polo: Arroyo Grande finishes second in own tourney

There was a really big water polo tournament this weekend in Arroyo Grande and, unfortunately for the host Eagles, there wasn’t a repeat of last year’s title-winning performance.

However, Arroyo Grande still captured second place in the tourney, thanks to a 5-4 OT victory over Malibu. Rebecca Smith scored the game-winner and Erin Higginbotham, Sydney Hollinsworth and Chelsea de Goede also scored for the high-flying Eagles, who are off to a 10-3 start.

Mater Dei, last year’s runner-up, won the 22-team tournament.
