Doesn’t look as if Scott will be involved in this crosstown rivalry

Both USC and UCLA have recruited running back Darrell Scott for quite some time now. And both have offered the 6-foot-2, 214 pound senior from St. Bonaventure a scholarship. However, any hopes either program might have had at landing the highly-touted prospect are all but gone now.

Scott seems determined to play elsewhere after he told Rivals.com, ‘I don’t want to stay in California. USC has too many running backs, UCLA is going through whatever they’re going through and I don’t really know about Cal.’ Looks as if the PAC-10 Conference let this kid get away.

He’s already made official visits to Colorado and Texas, the schools that have emerged as potential front-runners in the Scott sweepstakes. LSU has an outside shot and he still has plans to make a trip to Florida on Friday. Who knows where he’ll end up.... One thing that appears certain, however, is that it won’t be anywhere in Southern California.
