Kitani concerned about Fairfax’s inconsistency

Fairfax didn’t look rusty after its 13-day layoff when it bolted to a 9-0 first-quarter lead during Friday’s 57-53 Western League victory over Palisades.

But the 12-2 Lions still struggled with an opponent it never did fully control. Some of that speaks to how good the 17-3 Dolphins are. But there were red flags that popped up: 17 turnovers, a seven-point second quarter, unnecessary charging fouls -- all things that would help to keep Palisades in the game.

‘I think in the second half we tried to do a better job of executing our plays,’ Fairfax Coach Harvey Kitani said. ‘But we are still very inconsistent. To Palisades’ credit, they were able to do some things against us. We have to go back to work on everybody playing within themselves. And as long as guys have good attitudes and understanding of what we’re trying to do, we’re going to get better.’
