Calls are out to Carl Buggs, the Long Beach Poly girls’ basketball coach. I need to know if he and his Jackrabbits are done venting their frustrations. I say no -- they’re still venting. Still frustrated. And still want to reap a wrath upon the Moore League since their colossal upset to Millikan on Jan. 7.

Just look at their last two games. First, Poly smushed Long Beach Jordan by 21 points, then crushed Long Beach Cabrillo by 51 Friday night. And next up is -- oh goodness, I just shivered -- winless Compton on Monday.

The reason for all the frusutration is simple: Poly (11-2, 2-1) has lost the top spot in The Times’ rankings -- and in the nation. And worse, Poly, now ranked No. 6 by The Times, has lost a possible legacy.

So, Coach Buggs, call me back -- I want to know how you’re feeling.
