First eat pasta, then play soccer

Right now, their grub is on. Pasta. Lots of it. So, I’m guessing a big game must be looming. You see, the food is the clue.

Tomorow, Mira Costa girls’ soccer plays Redondo, so now it’s Dinner Night -- a tradition where the Mustangs hang out and chow down the night before a soccer showdown. ‘A team dinner builds unity,’ said Mira Costa Coach Patty Perkinson. ‘It’s a bonding experience.’

The Mustangs (8-1-4) are bonding quite well -- led by UC Santa Barbara-bound Laura Capparilli (10 goals) and Sonoma State recruits, Katie Parucha and Taylor Edmonds.

Hopefully, the players won’t eat too much. ‘That’s impossible,’ Perkinson said. ‘They’re growing girls.’
