The Ayala Extravaganza will be played Saturday at Ayala High, and the matchups sure look enticing.

The marquee game will feature No. 1 Fontana Miller and No. 5 Long Beach Millikan at 6:45 p.m.

Clearly, Millikan is in the spotlight now after having beaten Long Beach Poly and following up with an impressive victory over Cajon.

The drama of last week sure makes this game more intriguing, too. Cajon had desired so much to play Miller ... Miller didn’t want to play Cajon ... Miller wanted to play Millikan ... Cajon intimated that Miller was scared ... Cajon lost to Millikan ... It was great theater, I tell you. But the two best teams will be playing, and that’s always good for girls’ basketball.

The last five games should be great. I don’t think there’s a chance they’ll stay on schedule, though, but the games will probably be so good, no one will care.

By the way, the ticket is $8, but there’s no doubt in my mind it will be worth it.

Here are the matchups:

No. 9 Ayala vs. Santa Monica, 8:05 p.m.
No. 1 Miller vs. No. 5 Millikan, 6:45 p.m.
No. 15 Cajon vs. No. 14 Marlborough, 5:25 p.m.
No. 16 Chatsworth (13-4) vs. No. 11 Magnolia (13-4), 4:05 p.m.
Vista Murrieta (13-3) vs. No. 18 Ventura (16-1), 2:45 p.m.
Corona Santiago (11-7) vs. St. Mary’s Academy (13-3), 1:20 p.m.
L.A. Washington vs. St. Paul, 11:50 a.m.
La Canada vs. Corona, 10:25 a.m.
Corona Centennial vs. Monrovia, 9 a.m.
