She did it again.

Last Friday, Downey’s Dana Perez sank nine three-balls in a single game to break a school record, which she previously set at eight, and tonight guess what happened? Nine more. Yep, Perez tied her mark from seven days ago. ‘I don’t think about how many I have,’ Perez said. ‘I just try to focus on the game.’

Perez, a junior guard who’s averaging 19.5 points, finished tonight with 32 in a 57-53 victory over Warren. But it’s her three-point prowess that has her coach impressed. ‘If she misses five in a row, I just tell her to keep shooting,’ Coach Nate Harris said.

Not a bad idea, Coach.

Perez and Downey (13-7, 2-2) play at Gahr on Jan. 23 at 5:15 p.m.
