Bored? Don’t have any plans later this evening and you live in the San Fernando Valley? Well, I’ve got an idea. Head over to Panorama High at 7:30 p.m. and check out this kid, Jermaine Dansby of the Community Charter boys’ basketball team, a City Section small school. It might be worth it.

Don’t know how good the opponent, Heritage College-Ready Academy, is but the game should be entertaining, considering the sophomore point guard is racking up numbers at an alarming rate. Dansby is averaging 19 points, 12 assists, 6.4 rebounds and 6.1 steals a game this season.

Never seen him play, but he’s held his own against a couple teams ranked in The Times’ top 25, namely Santa Margarita and Renaissance Academy. Then, there was a 41-point, 21-assist, 9-rebound, 9-steal effort against Monrovia. Tell you what, if I wasn’t working in the office tonight, I’d go and see what Dansby has to offer.
