With its 72-50 Olympic League triumph over Crossroads on Friday night, Campbell Hall, ranked No. 7 by The Times, recorded its 50th consecutive league victory. The streak started in January, 2003, and it was a talking point among the Vikings’ coaching staff, even though the players weren’t really aware of it.

‘I don’t think they even realized we got to number 50,’ Campbell Hall assistant coach Paul Tait said. ‘We don’t talk about stuff like this.... The only time we’ll talk about it is at our banquet at the end of the season.’

Dallas Rutherford scored a game-high 21 points and Jrue Holiday finished with 17 points, 11 assists and 11 rebounds despite not practicing all week because of final exams.

Campbell Hall posted its 50th consecutive home victory on Jan. 12 against Brentwood.
