A look at the Southern Section Division II-A girls’ basketball playoffs.

Who will win it all: No. 2 Cajon over No. 1 Ayala

I have a gut feeling about: No. 3 Perris

Analysis: The three favorites in the division, Ayala, Cajon and Perris, can all light it up. But this is what I like about Perris: Two weeks ago, it scored 101 points against a good team, La Jolla The Bishop’s School, not some overmatched scrub. OK, it was double-overtime, but you get my point.

Ayala has already beaten Cajon and Perris in close games, but Ayala’s blowout loss a few weeks ago to Santa Monica was a red flag. Maybe it has refocused. It better be, because Perris and Cajon are hungry, and that potential semifinal will be epic.

Cajon’s inside-outside combo of Layshia Clarendon and Darshae Burnside gives it a nice balance that probably exceeds everyone else’s in the division, but they better avoid foul trouble and lapses in composure.
