Looking for revenge...or deja vu

It was four years ago, Crenshaw Coach Ed Waters was telling me the other night, when the Jordan Bulldogs waltzed into The Shaw’s gym and knocked the Cougars out of the City Section boys’ basketball playoffs.

Four years later the location has changed. On this Friday night, Crenshaw was in Jordan’s gym for a first-round playoff game in the Championship Division playoffs.

But the passions are the same.

Crenshaw folks have a long memory when it comes to their basketball teams. Waters wasn’t the head coach four years ago. Yet the loss still stings him.

As to what memory Crenshaw or Jordan will have after this game, it’s too early to tell.

With three minutes left in the first half, Jordan is clinging to a 28-26 lead.
