We’re 17 minutes from tip-off. That means we’re also 17 minutes away from the destruction of the San Diego Cavers in the Southern California Regional Division I playoffs.

The Cavers have a second-round showdown with a supreme team -- the Dominguez Dons (29-2), who have won 18 consecutive games, including a victory over a monster in the Southern Section Division I-AA finals, the Mater Dei Monarchs.

Now, this San Diego squad isn’t a pansy, but I don’t think it can run ball in the Southland. The Cavers (23-4) recieved a 28-point beat-down courtesy of Fairfax earlier season. That’s my barometer.

And my other barometer is simply this: Dominguez is just dangerous. Think Arnold as the Terminator -- that’s the Dons tonight.
