Fourth-seeded Fairfax trails Etiwanda by only two points, 26-24, at halftime of their Southern California Regional Division I quarterfinal.

But the Lions, who only scored seven points in the second quarter, can’t be happy with how the game is going.

Fairfax is clearly bothered by the quickness of Etiwanda guards Erick Ellis and Bennett Shaw. Both are easily and repeatedly penetrating the middle of the Lions’ defense for close shots or passes to open teammates for three-pointers.

If the Eagles were shooting better -- 11 of 30 in the first half -- Fairfax would really have something to worry about.

One thing is certain: Etiwanda does believe it can win this game.
