An epic war looms once again -- Dominguez vs. Fairfax.

Way back in December, the Dons beat the Lions by five points. Now, here we are months later -- almost springtime -- and these two bruisers will duke it out once again. This time, it’s under one blinding spotlight: the semifinals of the Southern California Division I playoffs tomorrow night at 7 at Dominguez High.

After all these weeks and weeks, can third-seeded Fairfax beat second-seeded Dominguez this go-round? No way.

The Dons -- winners of 19 in a row -- are peaking higher than Everest. In the past few weeks, they’ve beaten Santa Margarita -- twice; wiped out Gahr -- twice; knocked off tough teams such as Lynwood and King; and schooled a monster squad, Mater Dei.

I’m pretty sure that by the final Times’ rankings of the season, after the state playoffs, Rankings Master Dan Arritt will slot Dominguez in the top spot. Right now, the Dons (30-2) finished the regular season ranked No. 3.

Oh, by the way, Fairfax (27-5) is No. 4. And let’s see if the Lions can scale Everest.
