It’s the City Section champion taking on the Southern Section Division I-A champion before a packed gym in Woodland Hills, and Riverside King is more than holding its own against Taft.

When George Fields completed a four-point play and drew the third foul on Taft’s Terran Carter with 2:28 left in the second quarter, King was up, 29-25, and the many King supporters who drove in from Riverside were making lots of noise.

King is handling Taft’s pressure defense and not letting Larry Drew Jr. score at will. King is up at halftime on the top-seeded Toreadors, 34-29.
