Girls’ basketball: Mira Costa has early control of OT

There’s a break in the action as Rhema Gardner is on the floor. She just fouled Megan Richardson with two seconds on the shot clock and 2:11 on the game clock, but is getting medical attention.

Mikah Maly-Karros hit a 10-footer to open the OT in the Southern California Regional Division II final, and Kylie Nakamine hit a three-pointer.

It’s 55-51 before Richardson shoots the free-throws.

Gardner,the younger sister of Rebekah Gardner, is carried off the floor. Looks like a knee injury.

Richardson, who has been mostly brilliant, missed both free-throws.

It’s 55-51 with 2:04 left and Ayala has the ball.
