The Who sang about a ‘Magic Bus.’ Jerome Bettis was simply known as ‘The Bus.’

And Long Beach Poly girls’ basketball -- courtesy of its Booster Club -- has chartered ‘The Bus of Champions.’

Any Poly fan who wishes to attend the Division I state title matchup between the Jackrabbits and Berkeley on Saturday can pay $80 for a bus ride to the Arco Arena in Sacramento for Saturday’s game. The bus will leave the Poly campus at 7:30 a.m. and return at 6 p.m. on Sunday.

The fee does not include lodging or a game ticket. For more information, contact Johnny Perkins at (562) 668-2469, Tish Williams at (562) 208-2354 or Tim Shirley at (562) 883-3230.

By the way, I dubbed the charter ‘The Bus of Champions.’ Thought it was appropriate since Poly’s playing for its third consecutive state crown.
