Don’t normally go out on a limb, or speak for others, but I will this time: Both the UCLA and USC basketball programs would like nothing more than to secure a verbal commitment from Renardo Sidney and take the first step toward potentially keeping the highly-touted junior from Fairfax close to home.

Problem is, it appears as if Sidney is intent on exploring his options. Suppose that bests explains why he was on an unofficial visit to Texas last weekend. These quotes from Sidney’s father indicate the trip to Austin went well, and included some individual time with Longhorns’ Coach Rick Barnes.

About a month ago, Sidney checked out Arizona St. And tentative plans have been made to visit Kansas and Memphis at some point down the road, therefore, it’s reasonable to expect Ben Howland and Tim Floyd to try to find new ways to make the Southland as enticing as possible. Otherwise, Sidney could be lured away.
