Dominguez is Hoops Land. You got Jordan Hamilton & Co. playing for a basketball state title this weekend.

You have something else at Dominguez -- an undefeated baseball team at 6-0, a squad that has outscored its opponents, 102-17. Senior Keenan Louis has already jacked four home runs and freshman Juan Avena has a .680 average and 12 RBIs.

You can be sure that the Dons will finish a little better than last season, when they went 6-18.

Here’s something you might not know about Dominguez baseball: It’s produced at least two guys who’ve reached the bigs. Remember solid major leaguers Hubie Brooks and Ken Landreaux back in the 1980s? Both were Dominguez grads, both played for the Angels and Dodgers and both were All-Stars.
