Country Day still relying on big three against St. Patrick/St. Vincent

Not sure it was part of the game plan, but a fourth player actually made a basket for La Jolla Country Day in the Division IV girls’ state final. Ariana Elegado sank a three-pointer during the third quarter, the only points from a Country Day player not named Janae, Dominique or Chelsea.

The Torreys are still doing a great job playing three on five against Vallejo St. Patrick/St. Vincent. Janae Fulcher has 18 points, Dominique Conners has 17 and Chelsea Burns 12 points to help Country Day take a 50-39 lead heading into the final quarter at Arco Arena in Sacramento.

The Bruins just nailed a three-pointer in the opening minute of the fourth quarter to cut the deficit to eight, and Country Day Coach Terri Bamford must be a little concerned because she quickly called a timeout.
