Mira Costa gets hammered in overtime and loses Division II final

It’s all over in the Division II girls’ state final.

Mira Costa did an admirable job coming back late in regulation without two of its key players, but the Mustangs had nothing left in overtime and lost to San Jose Mitty, 59-49, at Arco Arena in Sacramento.

The refs had another bad game in the Division II girls’ final, but the Mustangs didn’t help themselves in a few ways, especially at the free-throw line, where they had a chance to win in regulation.

Still, somebody needs to have a talk with the assignor. Either that or start playing some of these state title games in Southern California.
