In hindsight, McBroom’s performance is one for record book

The 30-point performance by Austin McBroom of Campbell Hall Friday in the state Division IV boys’ final was the most points scored by a freshman in state championship-game history.

Campbell Hall Coach Terry Kelly decided to stay in Sacramento Saturday to watch a couple games today in Arco Arena, and he was still beaming about his young player’s performance. And rightfully so. Is there another 15-year-old who could pull off what McBroom accomplished?

It should be fun to see how McBroom performs this coming summer, when Campbell Hall plays in the Fairfax tournament.
