The brain-squeezing numbers included 29 runs, 19 hits and nine errors. That was just one game between Mary Star and Bosco Tech on Monday. The Stars won the romp when Aidrein Cataluna hit a go-ahead three-run homer with two outs in the bottom of the sixth inning.

That’s the way the Stars have done it this season -- they win big, they win small. And they just win. Mary Star has built a perfect 8-0 record and just may win the Camino Real League crown -- already the Stars are 2-0 in league.

Mary Star also has a big-time star: Johnny Cigliano, who has four home runs and a .591 average. ‘Cig’ also closed out the Bosco Tech game with 2 2/3 innings of solid relief, including a bases-loaded strikeout to end the game.
