The opening game of the National Classic Monday couldn’t have produced a better matchup, with Visa Murrieta pulling out a 7-6 victory over West Linn, Ore.in 11 innings on a home run by Trent Garrison at El Dorado High.

The only problem for Vista Murrieta (9-2) is it had to use four pitchers, including ace Brian Valenzuela, who went five innings in relief to get the victory.
