Brandon Jennings (pictured), who would have set the McDonald’s All-American Game record for assists if there weren’t fumble-fingered folks on the end of a handful of his passes, impressed nonetheless.

They’re not great at giving out statistics and there was no postgame wrap-up, so I’m not sure how many assists the former Dominguez Don and Arizona Wildcat-to-be finished with, but he had more than anybody else. [AP reports that Jennings finished with 12 points and nine assists.] And how ‘bout his Kid ‘N Play hairstyle!

However, Jennings’ West team, fell to the East, 107-102. Tyrek (‘You can’t score if you don’t have the ball,’ as one announcer said his middle name should be) Evans, a 6-6 guard from American Christian Academy in Pennsylvania, was named the game’s MVP.

Attendance was announced as just over 10,000, but a game of this caliber should draw more. Milwaukee folks must already be suffering from Brewer fever. Go Gagne!
