So shoot me, I forgot the McDonald’s All-American girls’ game started at 4 p.m. today on ESPNU. My son’s got a bunch of friends over and they’re watching the ‘I Am Legend’ DVD on our big-screen TV downstairs, so I’m in the bedroom, watching the old Sony.

It’s about halfway through the first half and the West has a 10-point lead. Jasmine Dixon, out of Long Beach Poly, just missed a free throw. The announcers are talking about Rutgers women’s basketball -- pretty much non-stop about Rutgers -- and, of course, that’s where Jasmine and her McDonald’s teammate, Nikki Speed of Marlborough, will be headed in the fall.

There’s not much of a crowd at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee, but, perhaps like me, they are planning to arrive fashionable late -- but in plenty of time for the boys’ game, which follows at 6:30 p.m. on ESPN.

Hope some of our other writers/bloggers are watching and will weigh in with opinions throughout the night. Wake up, guys!
