The game didn’t end until 12:30 a.m. Thursday morning, but Encino Crespi had enough pitching to pull out an 8-6 victory over Washington (D.C.) St. John’s and reach the championship game of the Anderson Bat National Classic.

Crespi (9-3) will face Orange Lutheran (12-1) in tonight’s 7 p.m. final at Cal State Fullerton.

Crespi closer Sean Gilmartin, pictured, struck out five of six batters to earn the save. For more info, check out the Crespi web site.

There should be lots of hitting in tonight’s final because Crespi and Orange Lutheran are mostly out of pitching. Crespi even promoted a sophomore from the JV team, Josh Mason, who made his varsity debut against St. John’s.
