This doesn’t happen very often, but I’m guessing this is the reason Valencia senior Jessica Spigner was able to commit to Tennessee before her junior season.

With a runner on second base Thursday against Oceanside El Camino, and playing on a fence-less field, Spigner launched a fly ball ‘a country mile,’ according to Anaheim Canyon co-Coach Lance Eddy. The center fielder made an over-the-shoulder catch and the runner scored from second base on the sac fly.

That’s the kind of power the Volunteers will appreciate in Knoxville.
