Let’s not analyze why this is happening. Let’s just marvel.

One of the biggest shockers so far this baseball season is how good the Long Beach Millikan Rams are playing, at least in the Moore League, which is one of the most brutal ones around. The Rams (9-9, 4-0) may be playing at a humdrum .500 clip overall but they remain undefeated against league foes after beating Long Beach Jordan, 4-1, Tuesday.

Here’s one theory, Millikan made a bold statement -- perhaps a portent? -- when it beat defending national champion Long Beach Wilson to kick off league play. That victory seems to have had a spillover effect.

Let’s see if Millikan can keep surprising us. Next up for the Rams is league-rival Lakewood, which will play host on Friday at 3 p.m.
