Another Westlake player has decided he’s going to play ball in college. Right-handed reliever Alex Gillingham has committed to Loyola Marymount, picking the Lions over his other favorite, UC Santa Barbara.
The senior has posted a 0.45 ERA through 15 2/3 innings along with two saves and an 0-1 record.
So let’s see...that would make Gillingham the seventh Westlake player to have committed or sign on to play college ball (not counting pitcher Jordan Mannisto‘s football scholarship to Houston):
- Cutter Dykstra, UCLA
- Ryan De Jesus, San Francisco State
- Graham Johnson, Fresno State
- Shane Kroker, Wake Forest
- Derek Ring, Westmont
- Christian Yelich, UCLA
That should be all of them, whew!
