One of the tougher baseball league races to call is in the Sierra League, where Chino Hills began today/Wednesday with a 5-2 record, followed by Chino (4-3), Diamond Bar (4-3) and Glendora (4-3).

The situation may become even tighter today after Glendora hosts Chino Hills and Diamond Bar hosts Chino. Both games are scheduled to begin at 3:15 p.m.

Glendora is probably the hottest of the group, having won five in a row. Set to start for the Tartans is senior James Janclaes, who is 6-1 with a 1.57 earned-run average. Janclaes is coming off a solid start against San Dimas last Wednesday, allowing three hits in six innings in a 4-3 victory.

And you can’t overlook Damien and Ayala either. Damien beat Chino Hills last week and Ayala defeated Chino, both by the score of 6-4.
