Some of our finest and fastest stars are gracing the oldest -- and grandest -- track and field carnival on the planet... the Penn Relays, which draws 15,000 participants and more than 100,000 fans during the three-day event at University of Pennsylvania’s Franklin Field.

Today was Day No. 1 as Long Beach Poly’s 1,600-meter relay won its heat in 3:39.72, which also is the No. 2 mark in the country this season.

The event is hosted in my hometown, Philadelphia. So, if you’re heading to Philly, or already there, here’s a quick to-do list...

1. Run up the Art Museum steps like Rocky.

2. Eat a cheese steak in South Philly -- either at Pat’s or Geno’s.

3. Explore Independence Hall, where our nation became a nation.

Man, I’m homesick.
