I’m not sure if Paramount is in the San Gabriel Valley area, but... they do play in the San Gabriel Valley League? And my editor didn’t object to a recent comment left on this blog by Paramount baseball coach Cameron Chinn, so, I think I’m safe to do this post.

And why do I want to talk about Paramount? Because they are having a great season. Again.

With only four games left in the season, the Pirates (19-4, 11-0), ranked No. 12 in the Southland by The Times, can clinch their second-consecutive league championship today when they play at second-place Gahr (11-12, 8-3) at 3:15 p.m. The Pirates’ season is playing out very much like last year when Paramount entered the playoffs having won 18 of their final 20. Only to lose to Artesia in the first round.

Paramount, winners of 18 of their last 19, are looking to go deeper the this year. But first things first, winning league.
