It’s senior day at Bishop Amat and it’s only appropiate that the team’s best senior got things started.

First baseman Jordan Fox, who has .541 batting average, led off the game with an inside-the-park home run to left field. The Lancers have a 5-0 lead on St. Monica after two innings in this Del Rey League matchup.

Fox, who’s one for two so far, and Andrew Mistone have two RBIs each.

Before the first pitch, Bishop Amat, ranked No. 19 in the Southland by The Times, honored seniors Justin Herrera, Aaron Alcantara, Aaron Castañeda, Selina Bergos, Mistone, Keith Murakami, Fox, Tommy Reyes and Vinny Pantaleo -- in that order.

Check back later for the final score and a video interview with Fox.
