Track and field: One freshman qualifies in girls’ pole vault

Madison Stark’s day must have seemed, well, stark, but it turned out otherwise at the Southern Section-Toyota Division III preliminaries at Warren High.

The Oak Park freshman has qualified as the lone freshman in the batch of nine pole vaulters after tying for first place with a vault of 10 feet 3 inches.
