From the coaches to the players to the more than 50 fans who showed up for the team’s first spring football practice, Bishop Amat is ready for an attitude adjustment.

Bishop Amat’s program had fallen on hard times -- the Lancers were a combined 20-22 over the last four seasons and a disappointing 3-7 last year.

‘We’re tired of losing,’ junior linebacker and running back Brent Seals said.

The man with the task of turning the program around is Steve Hagerty, an Amat alum, who conducted his first practice as head coach on Monday.

Here’s a short interview with Hagerty.

Hagerty, pictured on the left, got nostalgic during his first practice, but he never stopped.

Here’s what a couple of players said about Monday’s practice.

‘You could tell that everybody was more intense than last year,’ Seals said.

Added UCLA-bound linebacker Isaiah Bowens: ‘I’m hungry, I don’t know about everybody else, but I’m hungry. We can’t wait for the season to get going.’
