Long Beach Wilson, the defending Southern Section Division I champion, has a 2-0 lead over Edison going into the bottom of the fourth inning of its Division I playoff opener at Blair Field. The game is going as expected.

Wilson pitcher Aaron Hicks, who figures to be a first-round draft pick next month, is making it hard for Edison hitters to swing their bats. Edison has put at least one runner on base in every inning but can’t take advantage. The Chargers left the bases loaded in the third inning. Hicks has five strikeouts and three walks.
