Boys’ volleyball: The rematch is on -- Loyola vs. Mira Costa

The battle will be epic for Loyola. The theme will be vindication for Mira Costa. The Cubs -- who just beat Los Alamitos in five games -- will play Mira Costa in the Southern Section-Toyota Division I semifinals next week.

My biggest question is an obvious one: Can Mira Costa stop Brian Scilacci? Scilacci led the Cubs with 11 kills while handing the Mustangs their first loss of the season a couple of months ago. He’s a 6-foot-3 senior headed to UCLA to join his brother, James, on the Bruins’ volleyball squad.
